About The Role
A Structural Engineer is required in Hemel Hempstead for a permanent position with a consulting firm. The salary offered is between £36,000 and £46,000 per annum, alongside a pension and healthcare cash plan. This role involves working primarily on high-volume residential schemes, with additional projects in healthcare, commercial, and industrial sectors, covering both new builds and refurbishments.
Responsibilities
- Structural design and analysis
- Preparing calculations, reports, and sketches
- Reviewing drawings
- Coordinating with clients, architects, and the wider professional team
- Managing your own workload to meet agreed deadlines

We are currently seeking a STRUCTURAL ENGINEER to join our client based in HERTFORDSHIRE.
You will work on
- High volume residential projects
- Projects in other sectors including healthcare, commercial, and industrial, encompassing both new build and refurbishment
Duties will include
- Structural design and analysis of buildings and structural elements
- Preparing calculations, reports, and sketches
- Reviewing and checking drawings
- Coordinating with clients, architects, and the rest of the professional team
- Planning and monitoring your own workload, working to agreed timescales
The Client
Our client is a successful, growing firm of consulting engineers who are working on various projects in the built environment. They currently have three UK offices.

The Candidate
- BSc in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- At least three years' experience of working in a structural engineering consultancy
- Good working knowledge of UK design standards and the Eurocodes
- Working towards becoming Chartered with the ICE or IStructE
- Excellent communication skills - both written and spoken
- Full UK driving licence required
Salary
Negotiable from £36,000 to £46,000 per annum depending upon experience plus pension, healthcare cash back plan, some WFH (3 days in the office required), life assurance, and a range of other benefits.
