Senior Structural Engineer
Client: BAE Systems
Location: Warton, Prestwick or Brough
Contract Length: 12 months
Hybrid: Onsite – Full time
37 hours per week
Rate: £31.60 PAYE or £42.50 Umbrella inside IR35
Overview
This is an opportunity to work on complex aerospace projects, contributing to structural analysis activities across metallic and composite aircraft structures. You will play a key role in delivering high quality engineering solutions while supporting and developing junior engineers within the team.
Clearance requirement: Eligible for SC clearance and UK eyes only
Key Responsibilities
- Structural sizing and analysis
- Finite Element Analysis
- Fatigue and damage tolerance assessments
- Producing engineering calculations using both traditional hand calculations and software tools
- Demonstrating compliance against certification and programme requirements
- Leading and delivering analysis tasks for yourself and other members of the team
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
- Working closely with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers to resolve technical challenges and improve ways of working

Key Skills
- Degree qualified in a STEM discipline or equivalent industry experience
- Strong background in aircraft structural analysis
- Experience working with metallic and composite structures
- Finite Element Analysis experience
- Previous experience within a design or structures engineering environment
- Ability to operate across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong reporting and presentation skills
