Purpose

As Structural Hull Designer, you are responsible for designing structural hull solutions that achieve high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, thereby contributing to the projects and the organization's strategic objectives and long-term success.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the structural hull scope 3D modelling, 2D drafting (for drawing) and material take off (MTO).
  • You coordinate with the piping, equipment, electrical, and naval architecture disciplines to resolve interface, space allocation, and clash check issues with support from the Lead Designer.
  • You perform constructability, accessibility, and maintainability reviews in collaboration with fabrication yards and project teams with support from the Lead Designer.
  • You support design reviews, technical queries, and change management throughout the project lifecycle with support from the Lead Designer.
  • You address site and fabrication queries and assist with as-built documentation as required with support from the Lead Designer.
  • You contribute to structural risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOPs, and model review sessions as required with support from the Lead Designer.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Naval Architectural, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 0 to 5 years experience in Oil & Gas projects with proven FPSO exposure.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Aveva E3D - 2D drafting and modeling of hull structure.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors and offshore fabrication yards is highly desirable.
