Job Purpose
To develop, coordinate, and maintain high-quality structural Building Information Models (BIM) and associated construction documentation using Autodesk Revit. The role supports structural engineers in delivering coordinated, technically accurate, and efficient designs across a range of projects from concept through to construction.
The Structural Revit Technician will work collaboratively with engineers, architects, MEP consultants, and contractors, ensuring that structural models and drawings comply with company BIM standards, project requirements, and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Modelling
- Develop accurate 3D structural models in Autodesk Revit.
- Produce coordinated structural models throughout all project stages.
- Model:
- Structural steel frames
- Reinforced concrete frames
- Foundations
- Retaining walls
- Timber structures
- Masonry structures
- Composite floors
- Structural openings
- Existing buildings
- Temporary works (where applicable)
- Maintain model accuracy throughout project development.
- Update models following engineering design changes.
- Ensure models remain coordinated with other design disciplines.

Experience
Essential
- 5+ years' experience using Revit within a structural engineering environment.
- Experience delivering structural BIM projects.
- Production of construction documentation from Revit.
- Working within multidisciplinary design teams.
Desirable
- Experience of ISO 19650 workflows.
- Experience using Navisworks for clash detection.
- Dynamo scripting.
- Knowledge of digital construction technologies.
- Experience mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications
Essential
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction, or Building Information Modelling, or significant relevant industry experience.
Desirable
- Autodesk Certified Professional – Revit.
- Relevant BIM qualifications or training.
- Membership of ICE, CIAT, or another appropriate professional institution.
