REMOTE/HYBRID OR ON SITE POSITION (Bagshot, Surrey) – UK BASED APPLICANTS ONLY
TEKLA STRUCTURES DETAILER/DRAUGHTSPERSON (STEELWORK & METALWORK)
Frequency Design Ltd have been specialising in Structural Steelwork and Architectural Metalwork detailing for the Construction Industry since 2007. Due to increasing contracts, we are recruiting for a Tekla Detailer to join the expanding business. The company undertakes small to medium sized contracts within the UK. Its range of projects is diverse and includes development contracts for school, colleges, hospitals etc., as well as commercial and residential. There is now an exciting opportunity to join this friendly business for a hardworking and proactive individual.
Experience/Qualifications
- Tekla Structures Experience (5 years minimum).
- Educated to a minimum GCSE 'B' Grade in Math’s, English and a Science/technical subject
Competencies/Duties
- Experience detailing Structural Steelwork AND Architectural Metalwork (examples required)
- Understanding of steel fabrication & installation
- Able to work under pressure to meet required timescales
- Ability to read and interpret Structural Engineer & Architect drawings
- Ability to work efficiently and independently using their own initiative
- Good communication skills and being able to liaise with subcontractors
- Willingness to learn, to improve and develop your own skills.
- Build and maintain good relations with all clients and suppliers and their project team personnel to promote the company values. In all interactions with customers, our culture of quality, professionalism, fairness, ‘can-do’ attitude should be held foremost in our client's minds.
- Detailed and expert knowledge of the current and latest versions of Tekla Structures.
- Working knowledge of BIM and ability to extract and import models and files into Tekla Structures.
- Knowledge of current drawing practice and standards related to 3D model build, connections detailing and fabrication drawings.
- Good working experience with office software such as Microsoft Office.
- Good time management skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Personable and able to work within a team environment, whilst displaying independence and initiative

- Reporting to Managing Director
- 3D modelling and detailing.
- Creation of drawing issue sheets & RFI registers
- Carrying-out site surveys (depending on location)
- Liaise with Contract Design teams, clients and fabricators
- Attend internal production meetings and external design meetings where required
This position is offered as a remote, hybrid or on site position. Applicant must have suitable working space and full communication capabilities.
Salary dependent on experience
