Edinburgh
Exceptional by design. A career at the forefront of Structured & Project Finance.
Join a market-leading Structured and Project Finance team where your expertise will contribute to high-value, complex transactions across the UK and internationally. Pinsent Masons is seeking a Structured and Project Finance Lawyer (4–6 years PQE) to join our growing team in Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity to work on landmark financing and development projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors, including renewable energy generation, energy storage and low carbon initiatives, while collaborating with recognised leaders in the field.

The Opportunity
You will play a central role in delivering some of the most complex and high-profile financing transactions in the market, advising a broad range of lenders, sponsors and developers across the full lifecycle of energy and infrastructure projects. Working closely with partners and colleagues across the UK and our international network, you will support a diverse portfolio of work including renewable energy (onshore and offshore wind, solar, anaerobic digestion and battery storage), infrastructure assets (including interconnectors, transport and accommodation projects) and other low carbon initiatives, as well as refinancings, operational matters and M&A.
At Pinsent Masons, your career is exceptional by design: deliberately shaped to support high performance, deep sector expertise and long-term progression. You will contribute to a growing and highly regarded Structured and Project Finance practice, building strong client relationships and delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice within a collaborative team known for its market-leading work and sector insight.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
