Are you an experienced Structured Cabling professional who enjoys turning complex requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions?
At NG Bailey IT Services, we're growing our Pre-Sales team and are looking for a Structured Cabling Estimator (Solutions Architect) to play a key role in designing and costing infrastructure solutions for high-profile and mission-critical environments, including Ministry of Defence estates.
This is an opportunity to join a leading technology services business where your expertise will directly influence successful customer outcomes from initial survey and design through to project delivery.

The role requires security clearance therefore is beneficial to already hold security clearance, but not essential as we can support you through this process.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
As our Structured Cabling Estimator (Solutions Architect), you'll be responsible for developing robust, compliant, and commercially viable solutions that meet customer requirements and industry best practice.
You'll work closely with customers, Account Managers, delivery teams, and industry partners to:
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments
- Design structured cabling and associated ICT infrastructure solutions
- Produce accurate estimates, bills of materials, labour calculations, and technical proposals
- Review third-party survey reports and ensure compliance with standards and client requirements
- Support customer meetings by translating technical requirements into practical solutions
- Provide technical guidance throughout the pre-sales lifecycle
- Participate in project handovers, ensuring a smooth transition from design to delivery
- Maintain accurate commercial and technical information within internal systems
- Champion Health & Safety and ensure all designs align with NG Bailey standards and industry regulations

What we’re looking for:
We're seeking a proactive solutions architect who combines technical expertise with strong commercial awareness and excellent customer engagement skills.
Essential Experience
- Security Clearance or willingness to go through the process
- Previous experience designing structured cabling and Wi-Fi solutions
- Proven experience producing estimates and technical proposals
- Knowledge of structured cabling manufacturers such as Mayflex, Corning, and Leviton
- Understanding of JSP standards and experience producing ECR documentation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate confidently with customers and stakeholders at all levels
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Desirable
- Industry qualifications such as: RCDD; CNID; CNIDP; Ekahau ECSE
