A Leading Global Financial Institution is Seeking a Structured Rates Product Control Associate

A leading global financial institution is seeking a Structured Rates Product Control Associate to join their London team. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in supporting the structured rates trading business, where your expertise will be valued and your contributions recognised. What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate closely with traders to reconcile any differences or discrepancies in profit and loss statements, ensuring accuracy and transparency in all reporting processes.
  • Engage confidently with risk management, operations, and other key departments to resolve issues efficiently while maintaining clear lines of communication.
  • Take responsibility for month-end processes including valuation controls, balance sheet substantiation, and timely reporting to senior trading and finance management.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business performance by conducting independent price verification of the trading inventory and ensuring robust control frameworks are maintained.
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance thresholds diligently, escalating any issues or concerns promptly to management for resolution.
  • Participate actively in new product initiatives as well as the evolution of complex derivative booking models, contributing your insights to process improvements.
  • Support the implementation of best practices in product control by identifying areas for enhancement in systems and workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations through meticulous documentation and adherence to established procedures.
  • Build strong interpersonal connections with stakeholders at all levels by demonstrating reliability, responsiveness, and a commitment to shared goals.

What You Bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in product control or accounting for complex structured derivative products within a reputable financial institution or similar environment.
  • Strong numerical aptitude combined with effective communication skills that enable you to explain intricate concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A dependable control mind-set with an ability to identify potential risks proactively while suggesting practical solutions for process improvement.
  • Confidence when discussing sophisticated issues with senior stakeholders coupled with sensitivity towards differing perspectives within cross-functional teams.
  • Proven initiative in enhancing processes or systems related to product control functions through thoughtful analysis and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Solid understanding of rates derivatives including options and hybrid products as well as familiarity with interest rate derivatives markets.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for financial markets and banking demonstrated through ongoing learning or relevant professional qualifications.
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships with key business stakeholders by being responsive, considerate, and reliable under pressure.
  • Commitment to upholding high standards of accuracy, integrity, and ethical conduct in all aspects of your work.
