The role
The Client Onboarding Quality Control Officer ("QC Officer") performs the "checker" role for onboarding of new accounts, performing periodic reviews in accordance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations or as set by internal policies and procedures for the Strutt and Parker Business Lines. The QC Officer will ensure due diligence performed by an analyst meets all requirements and has properly assessed and mitigated all risks present in accordance with internal and regulatory standards. The QC Officer will oversee Quality Control of the KYC files (CAC forms/Escalations), support the Manager with due diligence queries, priority of requests and MI where required. The QC Officer will be expected to provide [AB1.1]feedback to analysts and specialists to assist with identifying gaps in knowledge for training.
The types of Due Diligence performed within the department consists of Know your Client (KYC), Know your Intermediary (KYI) and Know your Partner (KYP).
Key deliverables
- Complete due diligence on new and existing accounts to ensure compliance with requirements of BNP Paribas groups AML / KYC policies.
- Proactively resolve ad-hoc queries related to all aspects of AML analysis.
- Where required establish and maintain trusted relationships with our clients to facilitate and accelerate the on-boarding processes.
- Provide guidance to the front office and Client Onboarding Analysts with regards group and local policies.
- Perform periodic reviews of accounts as required by the group policies.
- Actively participate in developing, testing and implementing new or enhanced KYC processes and other process improvement initiatives as required.
- Proactively resolve queries received from front office and the Compliance Team, highlighting and escalating issues in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with front office staff and the Compliance Team.
- Record accurate information on QC results and feedback results to team leaders and analysts/specialists.
- Providing structured feedback to other team members to improve overall quality of due diligence performed [AB2.1].
- Assist the Team Lead in the design, implementation and documentation of QC processes and procedures including providing input into the operation of the new QC function.

Person specification
Essential Experience
- Demonstrable experience and undertaking client due diligence in senior roles for at least 5 years, including completing independent searches and sanction checks.
- Prior experience interpreting policies and procedures associated with AML regulations.
- Working knowledge of third party global information sources used to complete client due diligence searches
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook, internet search engines.
- An aptitude to understand internal tools and processes
- An interest and working knowledge of residential real estate markets [AB3.1] (preferred, but not a pre-requisite).
