Company Description
The Muslim Cultural & Welfare Association of Sutton (MCWAS) was founded in 1981 by the late Mr Lal Hussain MBE to serve the needs of the local Muslim community in the London Borough of Sutton. Over four decades, MCWAS has steadily expanded its facilities and services to support worship, education, and social activities. The association moved to its permanent home at Wentworth Hall in 1996, a site that was refurbished in 2013 into a modern multi-purpose centre. Today, MCWAS provides a dedicated prayer hall for worship and contemplation, along with flexible spaces for learning, community programs, and cultural events.
Role Description
The Student Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based at MCWAS in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Student Assistant supports day-to-day operations of the centre by assisting with reception duties, greeting visitors, and responding to basic inquiries.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
