About the Opportunity

Are you a clear and creative communicator who enjoys making complex information easy to understand and helping students stay informed and engaged? As a Student Communications Officer, you'll develop and coordinate timely, accurate, and engaging communications across the student journey. Working across email, SMS, the Student Hub, student publications, and other digital platforms, you'll turn academic, administrative, policy, and operational information into accessible, student-friendly content.

You'll work closely with academic, operational, marketing, and student support teams to coordinate communications, maintain content schedules, support governance, and improve engagement through student feedback and communication data.

This is a permanent, full-time position that can be based at any of our four campuses.

If you're passionate about thoughtful, inclusive communications and creating a better student experience, we'd love to hear from you.

What's in it for you

  • Make a direct contribution to a clear, connected, and student-centred experience
  • Work across varied communication channels, campaigns, and student lifecycle priorities
  • Collaborate with academic, operational, marketing, and student support teams
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive education environment with opportunities to grow

What You'll Do

You'll create and coordinate communications that inform, support, and engage students across Torrens University Australia. You'll bring structure to communication planning and help ensure messages are accurate, accessible, well-timed, and aligned with organisational priorities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, edit, and deliver clear, accurate, and engaging student communications across email, SMS, the Student Hub, digital publications, and other platforms.
  • Coordinate communications covering enrolment, orientation, progression, census, assessment, wellbeing, student support, events, and important service updates.
  • Translate complex information into clear and inclusive content tailored to different student cohorts and stages of the student journey.
  • Maintain the student communications calendar, manage content schedules, and help resolve message overlaps and high-volume communication periods.
  • Develop communication plans for significant student activities, initiatives, and events, and support regular publications and campaigns.
  • Apply content governance, approval, and quality assurance processes, and use engagement data and feedback to identify improvements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
