About PBO Guide
PBO Guide is a growing digital lifestyle publication for Peterborough, created to showcase the people, places, events, businesses and experiences that make our city worth exploring.
From what's on this weekend and new local openings to food, culture, creative workshops, wellness, photography and hidden gems, we're building a publication that helps people discover and enjoy more of where they live.
About the opportunity
We're looking for enthusiastic student contributors in and around Peterborough to become part of the PBO Guide community.
This is a flexible, voluntary opportunity designed for students who are interested in gaining practical experience in media, journalism, content creation, photography, marketing, communications or simply telling interesting stories about their local area.
You don't need to be studying journalism or have professional experience. We're much more interested in curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm.
What you could get involved with
Depending on your interests, you might:
- Write articles, reviews, interviews or local features
- Research what's happening around Peterborough
- Discover and recommend local businesses, places and activities
- Photograph local events and places
- Create short-form video and social media content
- Interview local people, creatives and business owners
- Help us cover events and experiences
- Pitch your own ideas for stories and features
- Contribute ideas to the development of PBO Guide

No previous professional experience is required.
Commitment
This is a voluntary contributor opportunity, rather than an employment or formal internship position.
There are no fixed weekly hours or minimum number of contributions. We want students to be able to get involved flexibly around their studies and existing commitments.
Opportunities to contribute will vary depending on upcoming projects, events and your interests.
Location
Peterborough and surrounding areas, the role can be done completely remotely but hybrid is also possible.
