Are you a passionate healthcare student in the UK or Ireland? Do you believe in a more compassionate, holistic, and patient-centred approach to healthcare? The College of Medicine & Integrated Health Student Council invites you to apply for a Student Council role for 2026-2027. Please find the role specifications below.
We’re looking for enthusiastic students from all healthcare-related university courses, including medics, nurses, physician associates, paramedics, physiotherapists, psychologists and more, to represent our vision within your university and beyond.
This is an extremely exciting opportunity to take a leading role in shaping the future of healthcare by contributing to the vision and strategy of a national student council, and to manage, work with and further develop a network of wonderful Student Ambassadors across the UK and Ireland.

If successfully selected for the next stage of the process, we aim to inform you by Friday 7th August. We anticipate that your voluntary role will begin upon being informed and run until the end of the next academic year (exact end date to be reviewed).

Events Officer (1x)
- Oversees planning and delivery of major CofM student events
- Responsible for event logistics (e.g. scheduling, coordination, execution)
- Works closely with the National Ambassador Lead to ensure alignment across universities
- Leads organisation of flagship events (e.g. Student Conference)
- Supports planning of additional initiatives (e.g. hackathon, research showcase)
- Coordinates with the Communications team for event promotion
- Ensures events run smoothly and to a high standard

National Ambassador Lead (1x)
- Oversees the Student Ambassador network across all universities
- Acts as the main link between Uni Reps and Co-Presidents
- Coordinates communication and ensures information is passed down clearly
- Delegates tasks to Uni Reps and supports them in their roles
- Collects feedback and updates from Uni Reps and reports back to Co-Presidents
- Supports planning and coordination of cross-university initiatives
- Works closely with the Events Lead on larger events
Communication & Marketing Officer (1 position)
- Lead the Council’s digital presence, managing regular content and posting across platforms including Instagram and LinkedIn (and other platforms you may choose), with a focus on growing engagement and follower numbers.
- Promote the Student Conference, developing a clear communications plan and delivering regular, branded posts (including use of the College logo and branding) in the lead-up to the event.
- Design and produce marketing content for the Student Conference and other council initiatives, including graphics, copy, and campaign ideas. Promotion for council initiatives including the conference includes developing regular posts in the lead up to the event.
- Coordinate website updates, working with relevant individuals to ensure information about events and initiatives is published accurately and on time.
- Liaise with College communications staff, including organising meetings with Jo Tweedy (College Social Media Manager) where needed.
- Work collaboratively within the Council, contributing ideas in creative planning discussions and helping create a productive, supportive team culture. Involves communicating effectively and working proactively and independently on agreed tasks within agreed timelines to translate ideas into action.

Secretary & Treasurer (1 position)
- Manage the Student Council budget, tracking spend, supporting financial planning for events and initiatives, and ensuring appropriate use of funds. This may include sourcing opportunities to source additional funding where needed, working collaboratively with other members of the Student Council.
- Take accurate minutes at council meetings, capturing key discussions, decisions, and actions, and circulating these in a timely way and format that works for the Student Council.
- Monitor and manage the Council email inbox, responding to queries where appropriate and flagging relevant messages to the wider team.
- Act as a key financial liaison with the College, working with Amanda King to ensure budgeting, processes, and reporting meet College expectations.
- Work collaboratively within the Council, contributing ideas in creative planning discussions and helping create a productive, supportive team culture. Involves communicating effectively and working proactively and independently on agreed tasks within agreed timelines to translate ideas into action.
