The City Law School is the first in London and University of London to educate students and practitioners at all stages of legal education. The School has made significant advances in both research and education and seeks to build upon that success to become one of the UK’s leading law schools as it takes advantage of the new regulatory landscape for legal education. An opportunity has arisen for a Student Engagement Officer to join us.

Responsibilities
- The appointed Student Engagement Officer will be responsible for helping to identify and address barriers which prevent students from engaging with learning.
- This includes providing administrative support for attendance and engagement monitoring, and other related processes.
- Working with students and support services to identify and address concerns relating to students.
- Ensuring the reasonable adjustments policy is implemented effectively.
Person Specification
- Educated to A-level or equivalent.
- Relevant experience of working in a busy customer-focused environment, ideally in Higher Education or a similar setting.
- Confident using IT systems, including MS Office packages, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Experience of student records systems (particularly SITS) is highly desirable.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to draft correspondence and reports.
- Knowledge of data protection requirements and experience of handling sensitive information and situations.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to analyse problems and identify solutions.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Additional Information
- Closing date for applications: 13th September 2026 at 11:59pm.
- Interviews are scheduled to take place on: TBC.
- The selection process will involve an interview and assessment. Interviews will last no more than 30 minutes. There will be a short competency test to follow the interview that candidates should allocate an additional 45 mins for completion (1hr 15 minutes in total for interview and assessment). Further details will be confirmed at the interview stage.
