Student Experience Intern
Location: UK remote
Working Period: Internship (6-months)
Working hours: 20 hours/week
Reports to: Student Experience Manager

Our Interns are the key members of the team, ensuring that we deliver the best possible experience for our students supporting them to live their best life while driving great student engagement and customer service in our spaces.

We’re looking for a passionate, community-minded student to take the lead on growing and managing the Yugo Discord server, the home of student connection, gaming tournaments, and all things Yugo. If you're fluent in internet culture, know your way around Discord, and love bringing people together, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities
Discord Moderation & Community Care
- Lead day-to-day server moderation, ensuring the community remains welcoming, inclusive, and safe.
- Nurture daily conversations, answer student queries, and maintain a vibrant atmosphere.
- Help recruit, coordinate, and support a team of student gaming reps or sub-moderators to drive local engagement.
Community Events & Activation
- Plan, organize, and host interactive Discord-based events, game nights, and voice-chat hangouts.
- Collaborate with the Student Experience team to brainstorm novel digital event formats that appeal to diverse student demographics.
LYBL Event Guides & Student Insights
- Draw from your own student experience to write practical, creative event guides for the Live Your Best Life (LYBL) framework.
- Develop tailored programming ideas for specific student needs—such as post-graduate event concepts, studio apartment engagement strategies, and inclusive social mixers.
- Translate student trends and online culture into actionable community initiatives.
Analytics & Discord Reporting
- Track weekly and monthly server analytics, including active users, message volume, and event participation.
- Compile clear, structured Discord performance reports to evaluate campaign success and identify growth opportunities.
- Gather direct feedback from members to recommend ongoing server improvements and structural updates.

Content & Visual Storytelling
- Create eye-catching graphics, promotional posters, and short-form videos to promote Discord events and broader student experience initiatives.
- Use visual storytelling to boost participation and keep the community informed.
Requirements
- Active Discord Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Discord features, bots, roles, and server moderation best practices.
- Student Perspective: Currently enrolled student (or recent graduate) who understands university campus culture, student priorities, and studio-living dynamics.
- Event & Project Planning: Strong organizational skills with a knack for running engaging online activities.
- Communication Skills: Clear, friendly, and authentic written communication style.
- Self-Motivated & Collaborative: Able to work independently while syncing seamlessly with global team members.
- Bonus Points: Basic graphic design (Canva/Photoshop), short-form video editing (TikTok/Reels), or past experience moderating online communities.
