Student Finance Officer – Permanent Position
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Student Finance Officer on a permanent basis in a hybrid working arrangement.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Experience working in the Education sector
- Chasing student debt experience
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Provide accurate and up-to-date financial guidance to students and prospective students regarding student loans
- Support students with their Student Finance applications
- Administer Student Support Fund payments, maintaining precise records of financial transactions
- Resolve student queries regarding their student loan accounts
- Handle SLC Changes of Circumstances
- Reconcile distributed funds, providing management information as requested

Experience & Personal Qualities
Essential:
✔ Experience managing, presenting, and maintaining complex data ✔ Significant public-facing experience with a commitment to excellence in customer care ✔ Experience liaising across departments and organisational levels ✔ Strong organisational skills and time management ✔ Highly numerate ✔ Ability to supervise staff
Desirable:
✔ Experience within student finance environments ✔ Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate resilience ✔ Experience with project management ✔ Desire to develop a long-term career in Student Finance

✔ Support efficient, accurate administrative and financial processes for student financial systems ✔ Promote student finance systems and procedures to ensure correct guidance for staff and students ✔ Prepare regular reports on fund distribution, effectiveness, and resource planning ✔ Uphold best-practice customer care in student finance operations
Desirable:
✔ Experience in the Education sector ✔ Experience chasing student debt
Education & Qualifications
✔ Minimum 5 GCSEs, including Mathematics & English
