About the role

Imperial is seeking an experienced Student Income Policy and Data Lead to join our Income team within Finance on a fixed-term contract until December 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and data-driven leader to play a key role in shaping student income policy, improving processes, and delivering high-quality management information that supports decision-making across the institution.

Working within a complex and fast-paced environment, you will lead on policy development, data governance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that student income processes remain efficient, compliant, and aligned with institutional priorities.

An immediate priority will be leading Imperial’s operational readiness for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE), as well as supporting the implementation of Oracle Fusion in 2027.

What you would be doing

  • Lead the design and implementation of the Banner Student to Oracle Fusion Accounts Receivable integration, ensuring robust data flows, automated billing triggers, and effective reconciliation controls to support credit-based billing operations.
  • Have accountable ownership of the functional roadmap for student income systems, identifying, prioritising and delivering system enhancements that strengthen processes, controls and service delivery across the University.
  • Monitor, interpret and implement relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and institutional policies, ensuring compliance with sector regulations, funding body requirements, consumer protection obligations, fee status guidance and visa-related charging considerations.
  • Manage translation of policy into clear process designs, decision trees and Banner rules that are auditable and repeatable.
  • Lead the business readiness for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) implementation across Finance, Registry and ICT.
  • Ensure Banner and Oracle are configured to support effective modular fee assessment, student funding administration and accurate fee processing.
  • Oversee regular reviews of key controls, ensure timely resolution of identified issues, and manage relationships with auditors to support effective governance and compliance across income operations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of testing activities for income-related system changes, establishing acceptance criteria and managing UAT and regression testing across Banner Student, Oracle AR and interfacing systems.
  • Take ownership of process-improvement initiatives and act as a trusted advisor on larger University projects as the income systems and policy subject matter expert.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
