The Met

Job Overview
We are looking to recruit students for a 52-week student placement with the Metropolitan Police Service. All roles will provide students valuable insight and experience of working in one of the largest public organizations in the UK and the largest single employer in London. The roles are substantive posts, aiming to offer valuable practical experience wherever students are placed.
Counter Terrorism Policing
Counter Terrorism Policing involves collaboration among UK police forces working with the UK intelligence community to help protect the public and national security by preventing, deterring, and investigating terrorist activity. As the threat of terrorism continues to evolve, we must be ready, meaning we need to be constantly adapting. Delivering change is crucial, offering you a chance to play a part in this critical challenge: protecting the UK and its communities.

About You
All candidates must be undergraduate students in a sandwich year course, returning to study in Autumn 2028.
Vetting
This post requires access to highly sensitive intelligence material. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the position. British nationality is required (some dual nationals may be ineligible), along with DV clearance.
Due to access to very sensitive information, there are restrictions on traveling to certain countries, and additional security checks will be undertaken as part of the recruitment process. Applications from candidates with close ties to specific countries may take considerably longer to process or, in some cases, may result in the withdrawal of an employment offer.

Process
Your application will be reviewed against eligibility criteria by the hiring manager. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interviews, which may be conducted virtually or in person. Successful candidates will be required to attend Empress State Building, London, for identity checks and pre-employment requirements.
