Counter Terrorism Policing

As the threat of terrorism continues to change and evolve, we need to be ready which means we need to be constantly adapting. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Application & Security Guidance
In line with CTP and vetting security expectations, candidates should exercise discretion when discussing their application.
Please ensure that your personal email address is used primarily throughout the application process – this includes CV/Cover Letter submissions and all security clearance checks. This is important because personal email addresses are the most secure and reliable way to keep you reachable throughout the process.
University email accounts can be institution-managed and may be filtered, restricted, or deactivated, which can interrupt access to secure links and updates. You can still provide your university email as a secondary contact.
Using a personal email helps protect confidentiality, ensures you remain in control of account recovery/Multi-Factor Authentication, and reduces the risk of missed time critical messages or sensitive information being sent to an account you may later lose access to.
