About The Role

As a Student Placement - Quantity Surveyor, you'll join our Student Placement Programme and gain hands-on experience while contributing to some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. From day one, you'll take on real responsibility, develop technical and professional skills, and work alongside experienced colleagues who will support your growth. You'll also be part of a supportive early careers community, building valuable industry experience and developing the knowledge and skills needed for your future career.
In this role, you'll join one of our UKCS - Regional Scotland teams, based in Maxim Park (Eurocentral, Motherwell).
What you'll be doing
As a Student Placement - Quantity Surveyor, you'll gain valuable industry experience supporting the commercial management of major infrastructure and construction projects. Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and project teams, you'll develop your understanding of cost control, procurement, contract management, forecasting, and commercial performance while contributing to live project activities.
You’ll Get Exposure To
- Supporting the management and control of project costs throughout the project lifecycle
- Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting, valuations, and financial performance monitoring
- Preparing and maintaining commercial records, contract documentation, and project cost information
- Supporting subcontract procurement activities, including tendering, quotation analysis, and subcontract administration
Who we're looking for
We are looking for students who are enrolled on a university degree programme that includes a placement period, normally of 20-weeks to 30-weeks, with a genuine interest in our industry.

To Be Eligible, You'll Need To
- Be studying towards a degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Be available to complete a placement lasting 6-9 months, with start dates between June and September 2027, depending on your university requirements.
