About the Role

InterVol are looking for university students in the United Kingdom to set up volunteering projects at their universities that support both local volunteering opportunities in their community as well as link students with overseas partners for summer volunteering placements. We are passionate about connecting students with good causes and providing opportunities for young people to gain skills and experience while benefiting communities volunteering initiatives both locally and overseas. We also raise grant funding for our partner charities through on-campus events, to provide financial support alongside our volunteers.

We have an existing network of four university groups at Birmingham, Manchester, UEA, and UCL universities and are now looking to expand this to a few more universities over the coming year. We are looking for students who are passionate about volunteering and have the drive and skills to be founding leaders of student projects at their university.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Role Details

This is a unique opportunity to hold a voluntary leadership role at a registered charity and to be a founder of a charitable group at your university. Our charity provides learning opportunities for project leaders along with mentoring from our experienced trustee board. We envisage students putting aside 1-3 hours per week on average to conduct the duties required of this role, with some events, such as recruitment/freshers fairs or fund-raising events, requiring more time commitment.

Qualified applicants will be interviewed and those who are successful will be supported by the InterVol trustee board to set-up and lead projects at their Student Union. Committee leaders will have the opportunity to volunteer overseas on the selected partner placement, usually during the summer breaks in the academic year. In order to apply for these roles students need to be present for at least the following academic year at their institution to give time to set-up the student society.
