Job Summary
At GRAHAM, we are committed to developing the next generation of commercial professionals. We are seeking a motivated Year Out Student Quantity Surveyor to join our Interior Fit-Out team as part of a placement year.
Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and project teams, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience supporting the commercial delivery of high-quality fit-out and refurbishment projects across a range of sectors. You'll be involved in cost management, procurement, valuations, subcontractor administration, and financial reporting, helping you build a strong foundation for a future career in Quantity Surveying.
This placement offers an excellent opportunity to apply your academic learning in a live project environment while developing practical skills and industry knowledge within the fast-paced fit-out sector.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of project budgets, cost plans, and valuations.
- Support subcontractor procurement and account administration.
- Help monitor project costs and maintain commercial records.
- Assist with variations, payments, and final accounts.
- Attend site visits and project meetings to gain an understanding of project delivery.
- Work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, and site teams.
- Build relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Contribute to the successful commercial management of interior fit-out projects.

Essential
- Currently studying a degree-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong IT skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

INDUSTRIAL PLACEMENTS
Our industrial placements can last from 3-12 months, dependent on your college/university curriculum. On your placement you will be given the support, guidance and experience which will lay the foundations for a great future in a Construction career.
