Company Description

NextStep Education Group is dedicated to guiding students through their academic journeys with personalized advice and professional support. Our team of experts works tirelessly to help students achieve their educational goals and unlock their potential. By providing resources, tools, and mentorship, we aim to empower students to make informed decisions about their academic and career aspirations.

About the Role

We are looking for a driven, people-focused Student Recruitment Officer to join our Birmingham team. You will be at the forefront of our work, speaking with prospective students, understanding their goals, and guiding them towards the right course and university.

In this role, you will be able to manage enquiries from first contact through to enrolment. You will hold structured calls with students, explain entry requirements and funding options in clear language, and support them with their university and Student Finance applications. You will also maintain accurate records in our CRM and keep a close eye on your pipeline so that no lead is left unattended.

Community engagement will also form part of your role. You will build relationships with local groups, organisations and referral contacts to reach prospective students.

This position suits someone who enjoys speaking with people, works confidently towards targets and wants to develop a career in education, sales or advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contact prospective students by phone, email and WhatsApp.
  • Conduct structured conversations to understand students’ interests, qualifications and study preferences.
  • Explain course options, campus locations, entry requirements and funding options clearly and accurately.
  • Support students with application documents, university applications and Student Finance applications, subject to eligibility.
  • Follow up on enquiries throughout the application and enrolment process.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and report on enquiries, applications and enrolments.
  • Build relationships with community groups, local organisations and referral contacts.
  • Support outreach through community events and relevant online groups.
  • Work towards agreed recruitment targets while helping students make informed choices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
