Hiring Unit:

Department of Geography

Position Summary:

Assist with lab research and collecting data from the following tasks:

  • Preparation (drying, weighing and grinding) of soil samples for measurement of carbon content, stable isotope analyses and radiometric dating to determine rates of carbon sequestration
  • May assist with subsampling from cores, use of a muffle furnace, measurement using a pXRF or gas chromatograph
  • Assist with data entry and analysis
  • Assist with preparing materials to be used in field experiments
  • Assist with lab organization, maintenance and obtaining supplies

Experience and Education:

Preferred to be an undergraduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Science
