Job Title: Student Support and Wellbeing Advisor
Location: Highbury, North Harbour Arundel and Sixth Form Campuses
Salary: Full Time Equivalent £25,410.97 - £26,133.56, Actual, £11,561.63 - £11,890.39 per annum
Hours of work: 19 Hours per week, 38 Weeks per year (Term Time only), Part-Time, Permanent

About The Role:
To work closely with the wider Student Experience team to provide high-quality support to students. The role involves supporting students with well-being needs, providing information, advice and guidance on a range of internal and external support services. The post holder will work proactively to identify and address barriers to learning, helping students successfully complete their programmes and progress into further or higher education, training or employment. The post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of activities and enrichment opportunities that promote engagement in college life, personal development, community participation and preparation for life beyond education.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the work of the Student Experience team at campus level to ensure the service meets the College's statutory duties relating to safeguarding, child protection and adults at risk.
- Support and assist Student Experience colleagues with activities, events and interventions as required.
- Provide proactive support to students, working collaboratively with curriculum staff, parents/carers and external agencies to address barriers affecting learning, well-being, attendance, engagement and achievement.
- Identify students requiring additional well-being and implement appropriate interventions.
- Manage an allocated cohort of students, proactively identifying barriers to learning, implementing targeted interventions and reviewing progress to improve outcomes.
- Work with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, including transition cohorts, to promote engagement, resilience and positive progression.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student support, interventions, referrals, and outcomes, ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation of impact.
- Provide advice, guidance and support, signposting students to appropriate internal and external services where required.
- Liaise effectively with curriculum staff, parents/carers and external agencies to coordinate support and enable students to overcome barriers to learning.
- Develop and deliver appropriate health and well-being resources and activities to support student welfare, working in partnership with the Enrichment team.
Key Accountabilities:
- To work across the college with other Student Support and Well Being advisers, student support staff and other college staff to improve the student experience at college.
- Assess and deliver effective one to one support for students who are referred by staff, teachers, support staff or via other methods such as referrals from the Safeguarding Team.
- To identify students who will require wellbeing support in college. Students to be identified through the College’s admissions and interview process in conjunction with MIS.
- To work with a designated case load of students allocated through the College's transition programme, working with students on a 1:1 basis or in groups formulating action plans that are monitored and reviewed on a regular basis.
- Liaise with parents/carers, teaching staff and key support staff teams to provide relevant/up to date information on student health and wellbeing.
- Provide advice and support, signposting students to external support services and following up on student engagement.
- Ensure any safeguarding referrals are shared in a timely manner with the Safeguarding Assistant and/or Senior Safeguarding Officer.
- Promote the ‘Health and Wellbeing’ across the college, engaging with students to enhance student emotional and physical health and well-being.
- Create a safe and healthy environment for all students, including running wellbeing workshops/groups covering key areas such as mindfulness and resilience.
- Develop and deliver appropriate health and wellbeing resources and activities to support student health and wellbeing across the college.
- To participate in and support activities for recruitment events in a range of settings including open days and community events.
