Job Title

Cardiff Met’s Wellbeing Service provides accessible, student centred support to students with Specific Learning Difficulties, disabilities and low-level mental health needs. We’re seeking a Student Support Officer to help students access appropriate adjustments, funding and wider university support.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll create an excellent student experience by coordinating a smooth and responsive service by supporting students from their initial contact through to the implementation and review of the support they receive.

Additionally, You Will

  • Undertake informal assessment of students’ needs, identify appropriate support and adjustments, and escalate concerns appropriately within the service.
  • Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring individual support plans and adjustments are accurately recorded and communicated to relevant university colleagues.
  • Maintain high quality, confidential and comprehensive case records, using internal case management systems.
  • Monitor student engagement and progress through the support pathway, including prioritising follow up for students identified through the Wellbeing triage and or Cause for Concern process and making appropriate referrals or escalations.
  • Contribute to the effective running and development of the service through management of the service main inbox.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
