Description
We are looking for a Student Support Officer to join our Student Services team at our Cadbury College campus on a full time, fixed term (2026/2027 academic year), 39 week term time only basis to help create a safe, positive and supportive environment where every learner can thrive.
As a Student Support Officer, you will be a visible and positive presence around college, helping to promote Respect, Responsibility and Ready to Learn. You will build strong relationships with learners, encourage positive behaviour and attendance, and provide individual support and guidance when students need it.
Key Responsibilities
- Promoting a safe, positive and effective learning environment
- Monitoring learner behaviour and designated areas
- Supporting positive behaviour, attendance and respect
- Building positive relationships with learners and providing individual guidance
- Working closely with Student Attendance Officers to improve attendance
- Signposting learners to appropriate support
- Responding as a first aider when required
- Maintaining accurate records of interventions and incidents
- Encouraging learners to take responsibility for their attendance and behaviour
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and following College policies and procedures

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Recent, relevant experience in a similar role
- Experience supporting learners in an educational environment
- A commitment to creating a safe and positive learning environment
- The ability to understand and respond to individual learner needs
- The ability to produce clear and meaningful incident/accident reports
- A willingness to undertake further training and continuing professional development
