JOB TITLE: STUDIO MULTI-SKILLED OPERATOR (Part-Time, FTC)

Role Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Studio Multi-Skilled Operator (MSO) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated, detail-oriented, and flexible, with excellent communication skills and the ability to make the best use of available resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of broadcast systems and live streaming technologies.
  • Proficient in setting up and operating cameras, including Sony ENG and professional studio cameras.
  • Expertise in studio operations, location filming, and lighting techniques, including grip equipment setup and operation of lighting controllers.
  • Vision mixing for live broadcasts, preferably with experience in NewTek Tricasters or similar systems.
  • Operating and setting up digital audio equipment, including digital mixing desks, wireless microphones, and talkback systems.
  • Post-production skills, including graphics and editing on Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work during unsociable hours, travel locally and internationally, and work on a rotating shift pattern, including weekends and late nights.
  • Awareness of health and safety protocols, including conducting risk assessments.

About You:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a studio multi-skilled technical operations role.
  • A degree, HND, or vocational qualification in sound technology, sound engineering, media production, electrical engineering, or a related field is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in tapeless production workflows and broadcast systems, including cameras, sound, vision, lighting, graphics, post-production, media management, MCR, and Playout.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, capable of managing workloads and meeting deadlines independently and within a team.
  • Professional and tactful in responding to production staff requests, with the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills, able to remain calm under pressure, and work effectively in a multifunctional team environment.
