Job Description
The Studio Operative plays a vital part in the creation and conversion of artwork into production-ready formats. This role ensures that visual concepts are accurately translated into electronic files and physical proofs, maintaining the high-quality standards required for final printed products while optimizing for production efficiency and sustainability.
- Create images, redraw or enhance art, and recommend changes to improve the end product or correct errors.
- Use graphic design and illustration software to convert artwork to production art and produce negatives, electronic files, and color proofs.
- Determine necessary changes to artwork in order to maximize printing quality and production efficiency.
- Produce finished electronic art for digital proofing and printing consistent with product specifications and requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments regarding jobs and specifications, accuracy, timelines, and status.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in graphic design and illustration software.
- Strong understanding of desktop prepress and color management principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
