About You
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Childcare practitioners who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and inspiring the next generation of childcare professionals. Whether you are an established Further Education Childcare Tutor, or an experienced childcare professional looking to take the next step into teaching, we will welcome applicants who have a genuine enthusiasm for supporting young people to achieve their potential and succeed in their chosen careers.
You will:
- Be passionate about teaching, training, and learner success
- Work confidently both independently and as part of a team
- Be organised, proactive, and able to meet deadlines
- Be motivated to support young people to achieve positive life outcomes
- Be confident in using a range of IT systems and educational technologies to monitor learner progress, maintain records and support effective delivery.
- Be able to manage administrative responsibilities effectively, maintaining accurate learner records, monitoring progress and completing documentation in a timely manner.
- Experience of working within the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework, with an understanding of inspection requirements and experience of supporting or participating in Ofsted inspections being advantageous.
Essential Requirements
- PGCE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare.
- Recent and relevant industry experience working with children in an early years, childcare, or educational setting.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable:
- GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above, Functional Skills Level 2, or an equivalent qualification in English and Maths.
- Experience of teaching or training learners aged 16–19 within a further education or vocational setting.
- Experience of supporting learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
- Knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and inspection requirements.
About the Role
We are recruiting a Childcare Tutor to join our expanding provision at our Walkden centre.
This is a rewarding full-time Childcare Study Programme Tutor role, delivering high-quality, practical learning to post-16 learners studying Childcare qualifications at Level 1 and 2.
You will manage learners’ journeys from initial interview and assessment through to successful completion and accreditation, delivering engaging teaching that builds industry knowledge, employability skills, confidence, and progression routes into further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
Alongside vocational delivery, you will support learners to achieve English and Maths (Functional Skills or GCSE), working with specialist teams, and uphold the highest standards of teaching in line with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Childcare teaching and assessment
- Teach Level 1 and/or Level 2 qualifications
- Support learners’ employability, social skills, and personal development
- Support delivery of English and Maths (with specialist support)
- Track learner progress and maintain accurate records
- Provide pastoral and tutorial support
- Embed ICT and digital learning tools
- Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
