Looking for a flexible role that fits around your schedule while making a genuine impact on neurodivergent students in higher education?
Randstad Student Support is recruiting qualified Specialist Study Skills Tutors (ASC) to provide tailored, one:to:one academic support to autistic students studying at universities and colleges across Scotland.
This hybrid position offers complete schedule control, blending online sessions with essential face:to:face support on local campuses to meet individual student preferences.
About the Role
As an ASC Study Skills Tutor, you will deliver individualised, neurodiversity:affirming academic guidance to help students develop confidence and long:term learning independence. You will collaborate with students to:
- Foster Academic Independence: Develop tailored strategies for workload organisation, time management, and goal:setting.
- Enhance Study and Research Strategies: Guide students through critical source evaluation, referencing standards, comprehension, and structured academic writing.
- Capitalise on Strengths: Identify individual learning preferences and build executive functioning strategies to keep studies on track.
- Provide Professional Support: Maintain confidentiality, manage your caseload efficiently, and communicate proactively with Randstad to safeguard student well:being.

Requirements
Mandatory Qualification Requirements
To support students funded via SAAS / Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) in Scotland, candidates must meet the national quality framework criteria:
- Degree Level: Hold an undergraduate degree (Level 6 or above).
- Teaching Credential: Hold a recognised teaching qualification.
- Autism:Specific Training: Completion of specialist adult autism training, such as:
- The 6 National Autistic Society (NAS) Non:Medical Helper (NMH) modules
- The Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education
Desirable Skills And Experience
- Direct experience supporting autistic adults or neurodivergent learners in an educational setting.
- Outstanding interpersonal, active listening, and communication skills.
- High reliability, punctuality, and strong organizational ability.
