Role Information

Location: Stroud Campus
FTE Salary: £25,287.00 per annum (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)
Actual Salary: £6,934.59
Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, Term Time Only
Working Hours: 12 hours per week, 38 working weeks per year

Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Study Skills Facilitator to join our team at Stroud Campus.

This role is central to supporting learner success by helping students develop the study skills, confidence and self-management strategies needed to thrive in college, progress into employment or further study, and achieve their aspirations. Working with learners across Foundation, GCSE and Vocational programmes, you will provide targeted support that helps students become more independent, organised and effective learners.

Working closely with curriculum, Learning Support and LibraryPlus colleagues, you will deliver targeted study skills support through individual and group interventions, helping learners develop the confidence, academic skills and independent learning strategies needed to achieve their goals.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Deliver study skills support to individuals, groups and classes.
  • Support learners to develop effective study and independent learning skills.
  • Promote confidence, resilience and good academic practice.
  • Deliver targeted interventions that improve learner confidence, engagement and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum and support teams to identify and respond to learner needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner support and progress.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Passion for supporting learners to succeed.
  • Experience working with learners in an education or support setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to support learners in using digital tools and technologies effectively to enhance their learning.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Understanding of study skills and learner success strategies.
  • Understanding of inclusive approaches that support learners with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and learning needs.
