About the Role
The Style Editor is a key editorial role within British GQ, responsible for writing, commissioning, and editing style content across print, digital, social, and video. Working closely with the Senior Style Editor, the Lifestyle Director, and the wider editorial team, they will help shape GQ's coverage across menswear, luxury, watches, grooming, and accessories, identifying the cultural conversations that define modern style.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding writer with strong editorial instincts, a digital-first mindset, and a deep understanding of fashion, luxury, watches, grooming, and contemporary culture. They will be equally comfortable producing reactive news, long-form features, celebrity style stories, and trend-led journalism, while developing new editorial franchises and identifying opportunities for audience growth.
They will build and maintain strong relationships across the fashion and luxury industries, representing British GQ at fashion weeks, launches, and industry events throughout the year. Working collaboratively across editorial, social, video, ecommerce, audience development, and commercial teams, they will play an important role in delivering British GQ's editorial strategy while maintaining the brand's distinctive voice and standards.

The position reports directly to the Senior Style Editor, with a dotted line to the Lifestyle Director, and is based in London, with mandatory in-office attendance Monday to Thursday.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Write, commission, and edit stories across British GQ's style verticals, including menswear, luxury fashion, watches, grooming, accessories, and jewellery
- Lead digital coverage of fashion news, collections, launches, collaborations, and emerging trends
- Develop original features, interviews, essays, and recurring editorial franchises that connect style with film, television, music, sport, and culture
- Contribute to British GQ's watches coverage across digital and print, including news, interviews, and collector stories
- Work closely with the Senior Style Editor and Lifestyle Director to plan coverage around key style tentpoles, including Fashion Week and Watches & Wonders
- Work closely with editorial, social, video, ecommerce, audience development, and commercial teams to develop cross-platform editorial initiatives, maximize the reach and performance of British GQ's style content, and identify opportunities across affiliate and shopping content
- Update and optimize evergreen content in line with SEO strategy and audience insights
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the fashion, luxury, and watch industries
- Represent British GQ at industry events, fashion shows, launches, and client activations
- Generate ideas for editorial packages, digital franchises, newsletters, and special projects
- Support wider editorial initiatives, including GQ Heroes, Men of the Year, Watches, and other tentpole moments
- Be a flexible and collaborative member of the editorial team
Essential Skills and Requirements
- Significant editorial experience within fashion, luxury, and style journalism
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across digital, print, social, and video
- A strong understanding of menswear, luxury fashion, watches, and style
- Excellent editorial judgement with a digital-first mindset
- Experience applying SEO best practices and using digital publishing platforms
- Experience with content management systems; proficiency with Airtable, Google Analytics, and Parse.ly is advantageous
- Strong industry contacts across fashion and luxury
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A collaborative, proactive approach and enthusiasm for developing original editorial ideas
- A passion for British GQ's editorial voice and ambition to help grow its audience across every platform
