We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Sub Agent to join our team working on the SSEN Transmission Framework in the Inverness area of the Scottish Highlands. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of major high voltage infrastructure projects while continuing to develop your leadership, technical, and project management skills.
Working within a supportive and experienced site management team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of high-value engineering schemes, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, to the highest quality standards, on time and within budget.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction activities across high voltage infrastructure projects.
- Lead and manage site engineering teams and Works Managers to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
- Plan, schedule, and resource project activities to meet programme requirements.
- Prepare and review risk assessments and method statements.
- Assist in the management and coordination of temporary works.
- Supervise and oversee setting out activities on site.
- Prepare work instructions and construction documentation.
- Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and design teams to ensure effective project coordination.
- Maintain accurate site records and project documentation.
- Prepare and manage as-built information and project handover records.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Support the Site Agent in driving project performance, programme delivery, and continuous improvement.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Experience operating in a Senior Site Engineer, Section Engineer, or similar construction management role.
- Previous experience in a Sub Agent position, or the capability and ambition to step into the role.
- Experience planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities.
- Knowledge of risk assessments, method statements, and temporary works processes.
- Experience supervising setting out activities and managing site engineering functions.
- Experience producing work instructions and coordinating with design teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- The ability to build effective working relationships with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Experience using GPS surveying systems.
- Experience working with BIM and AutoCAD.
Desirable
- Experience working on electrical infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of cabling, substations, and high voltage transmission schemes.
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or construction-related discipline.

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations, and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
