Offshore Agent

Texo Recruitment are recruiting for an Offshore Agent to join our Client's Major Projects and Infrastructure division and support with their Offshore Marine Works.

This is an Offshore position on a temporary contract. Applicants must have UK Right to Work, sponsorship is not available for this role.

Role Purpose

To lead and control a section of the works, according to a specific discipline.

Financial: Section budget monitoring and reporting. Identifies changes to works information and wider commercial and contractual implications. Able to gather information for and produce contract required documentation to support commercial recovery.

Organisational: Manages a team of Section Engineers and Offshore Client Representatives.

Accountabilities

Core

  • Live the Client’s Values
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
  • Support the delivery of CSUK’s Sustainability activities

Health Safety & Environmental

  • Reviews operational documentation (Method Statements, Risk Assessments, etc.) and makes improvements as appropriate
  • Carries out trend analysis and identifies improvement areas from audits and near misses
  • Carries out site visits and confirms the sufficiency of control documentation

Engineering Control

  • Understands and implements technical requirements associated with offshore installation work scope
  • Understands and implements the resolution of construction/delivery issues, drawing on experience and accepted industry best practice

Quality

  • Ownership of process of reviewing and checking of deliverable documents
  • Implements systems and processes to support construction of the works in accordance with the specification (e.g., Materials Approval, NCR, Handover Documentation)
  • Carries out trend analysis of the above and identifies improvement areas for non-conformance and business improvement
  • Carries out Independent Inspections of their own section of works
  • Carries out Site Audits to check works and documentation compliance

Productivity

  • Produces a section programme in the accepted format / software
  • Tracks and monitors KPI compliance and recommends improvements to systems to maintain team production.
  • Establishes monitors of production, translated to graphical form from the Programme to aid understanding of current status and identification of requirements for intervention.
  • Cross references section programme to stage programme and ensures compatibility

Commercial

  • Maintains accurate records, including dialogue with external organisations (subcontractors)
  • Manages sub-contractors
  • Understands cost and value
  • Drafts correspondence to sub-contractors, suppliers and Client

Personal Qualities and Experience

Core

  • Experience of managing offshore geotechnical/geophysical and UXO projects
  • Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
  • Suggests and implements improvements to systems
  • Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity
  • Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours given the offshore environment
  • Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility with evidence of wide-ranging independent judgement
  • Excellent team player
  • Strong communication skills with solution-oriented approach to issue resolution
  • Demonstrates required behaviours to align to project and team objectives
  • 10 years’ experience of working in offshore environment inc. Party Chief role
  • Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card. SSSTS or SMSTS qualified. STCW-95 (or equivalent)

Health Safety & Environmental

  • Understands the principles of Accident / Incident Investigation and has good working knowledge of the process
  • Ensures HSE expectations are met throughout delivery

Engineering Control

  • A full understanding of technical requirements and techniques associated with control of offshore activities
  • Identifies correct level of resource
  • Track record of solution-oriented approach to issue resolution

Quality

  • Understands the Organisational Business Management Systems and processes
  • Understanding of requirements for deliverables in line with the specific project requirements

Productivity

  • Able to produce a section programme in the accepted format / software
  • Able to measure and track KPIs for enhanced productivity
  • Strong knowledge and management of construction process associated with working in the offshore environment

Commercial

  • Awareness of procurement practice
  • Experience of providing supporting documentation for commercial recovery
