Role: Sub Agent
Location: West Sussex
Galliford Try is looking for an experienced Sub Agent to join our team in West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity to take responsibility for a section of works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager, you will coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant, materials, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of allocated works packages.
- Supervise site teams and subcontractors, ensuring safe working practices.
- Plan, monitor, and coordinate project activities to meet programme requirements.
- Manage materials, plant, and resources effectively.
- Monitor progress and report to the Site Agent/Project Manager.
- Conduct site inspections, H&S checks, and CDM compliance audits.
- Ensure RAMS, permits, inductions, and briefings are implemented correctly.
- Support cost control, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Attend client, stakeholder, and project meetings as required.
- Resolve technical issues and maintain quality standards throughout delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement and identify innovative working practices.
About you:
- HNC or above in Civil Engineering.
- SMSTS and CSCS certified.
- Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and NEC contracts.
- Experience managing civil engineering or infrastructure works on site.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and able to interpret drawings and technical information.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple work packages and competing priorities.
- Experience working with site teams, subcontractors, designers, and clients.
Desirable
- Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC).
- First Aid qualification.
