About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Sub Agent to join our team, supporting the delivery of a major energy infrastructure project. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of significant civil engineering works while contributing to the growth of a long-term programme within the energy sector.
As a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing sections of work, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and supply chain partners to drive successful project outcomes while developing your leadership and project management capabilities.
Role Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the delivery of allocated sections of works.
- Ensure work is conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and client requirements.
- Monitor progress against programme and report on performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained through effective inspection, monitoring, and documentation.
- Support the management of project costs, resources, and productivity to contribute to commercial success.
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of construction programmes and work plans.
- Promote and maintain a positive health, safety, and environmental culture across the project.
- Identify and resolve technical and operational challenges in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project records and use company systems and digital tools to support project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal teams.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Experience working in a Sub Agent role or readiness to step into the position from a similar level.
- Civil engineering experience is essential.
- Experience delivering infrastructure or utilities projects is advantageous.
- Overhead Line (OHL) experience is desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery processes.
- Ability to manage site operations, resources, and subcontractors effectively.
- Working towards a relevant professional membership is desirable.
- Familiarity with project delivery equipment, management systems, and digital construction tools.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical information and support problem-solving on site.
- Commitment to maintaining exacting standards of safety, quality, and environmental performance.
- An initiative-taking and collaborative approach with strong leadership potential.

About The Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
