A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Sub Assembly Fitter, you will be a key member of the production team, responsible for the assembly, stripping, and maintenance of small gas turbine components. This role requires a hands-on approach, utilizing a range of tools and precision equipment to ensure all parts meet stringent quality and engineering standards. You will operate within a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing directly to the creation of technology that powers global communities. Your daily activities will involve the precise assembly of mechanical components, operation of lifting equipment, and meticulous recording of build data. A strong focus on safety and quality is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere to all company and legal regulations. This includes maintaining a clean and organized workspace through 5S practices and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this position hinges on close collaboration with supporting departments to ensure a seamless production flow. You will leverage your technical expertise and keen attention to detail to troubleshoot issues, maintain high standards of workmanship, and contribute to a culture of excellence and teamwork.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Assemble, strip, and reuse small gas turbine components according to engineering specifications, utilizing a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment with high accuracy.
- Perform mechanical fitting tasks on rotating equipment, ensuring all parts meet exacting standards and operate lifting equipment and fixtures to safely and efficiently move components during the assembly process.
- Maintain accurate records of build figures and other production data as required.
- Uphold a strong commitment to quality and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Maintain a culture of excellence and tidiness through the application of 5S principles.

What You Bring
- Completion of a recognized Level 3 apprenticeship in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent technical certificate in a mechanical engineering field, supplemented with relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrable experience in a mechanical fitting role, preferably involving rotating equipment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, essential for managing competing demands and facilitating resolutions.
