Sub-Assembly Technician

Application Deadline: 21 October 2026

Department: Driver Development & Heritage (F1 Evolution)

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Silverstone

Reporting To: Marc Cox

Description

We are looking for a Sub-Assembly Technician to join our F1 Evolution team, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team’s TPC/heritage programme.

F1 Evolution plays a unique role within the wider F1 environment, supporting the preparation, testing, and operation of previous and heritage F1 cars, alongside demonstration and event programmes. As a Sub Assembly Technician, you will play a key role in the assembly, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of precision sub-assemblies across F1 Evolution projects, working to exacting specifications and quality standards to ensure components are delivered on time, to design intent, and to the highest standards of performance and reliability. Working with a degree of autonomy alongside the Chief Mechanic and Senior/Lead Engineers, you will support projects from initial assembly through to commissioning, testing, and ongoing maintenance, collaborating across departments to resolve technical challenges, maintain accurate build and traceability records, and ensure assemblies are ready to meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, service, commission, and repair sub-assemblies and vehicle systems, including hydraulic systems where required.
  • Deliver assemblies to design intent, required specifications, and agreed standards of quality, performance, reliability, and timing.
  • Interpret and work accurately from technical drawings, procedures, and build instructions.
  • Maintain accurate build records, component traceability, and service documentation.
  • Support projects from initial assembly through commissioning, testing, maintenance, and off-site events, ensuring assemblies are available when required.
  • Champion best-practice cleanliness, assembly standards, and a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
  • Communicate technical issues, risks, and problems through the appropriate processes and systems.
  • Maintain associated rigs, tooling, and equipment, ensuring they remain fit for purpose.
  • Support workload requirements outside core hours, including travel to UK and international testing or project events as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
