We are seeking an experienced Senior Sub-Contract Buyer to join a growing procurement function, supporting complex development programmes within the Defence and Aerospace.

The successful candidate will play a key role in translating early-stage and complex customer requirements into robust commercial agreements, ensuring requirements are effectively flowed down to subcontractors and that supplier commitments align with wider programme objectives.

  • Translate customer and project requirements into robust commercial documentation, particularly for the design, development and production of complex electronic systems and subsystems.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks associated with subcontract agreements.
  • Develop and negotiate contracts covering services, tangible deliverables and intangible deliverables.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Good understanding of contractual terms and conditions, risk management and customer-to-supplier contractual flowdown.
  • Experience working within complex project environments, supporting multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities, with the ability to work independently and manage complex assignments with minimal supervision.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional with a strong subcontracting background to take on a challenging role supporting technically complex Defence and Aerospace development programmes.
