Liverpool John Moores University is seeking an exceptional academic leader to join the School of Nursing, Public and Allied Health as Subject Head of Nursing.
This is a significant leadership opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse and higher education professional to shape the strategic direction, academic excellence, and future growth of our nursing portfolio. You will lead and support academic teams across undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes, championing high quality teaching and learning, outstanding student experience and outcomes, and research excellence and innovation.
As a key member of the School Management Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our nursing provision remains responsive to the evolving needs of healthcare, professional regulators and society.

About The Role
Reporting to the School Director, you will provide academic and operational leadership across the nursing subject area and will:
- Lead the strategic development of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes.
- Manage and develop academic staff, fostering a culture of excellence in teaching, research and professional practice.
- Ensure compliance with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards and other relevant professional and regulatory requirements.
- Drive innovation in curriculum design, teaching, learning and assessment.
- Promote student success, engagement, retention and graduate outcomes.
- Enhance the School's research profile and contribute to research excellence initiatives.
- Develop external partnerships and strengthen the University's reputation within healthcare, education and professional communities.
- Contribute to School and Faculty strategic planning and decision-making.
