About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Substance Misuse Clinical Lead to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Sudbury, a category D Prison, located in Ashbourne in East Midlands.
HMP Sudbury is an adult male prison with a population of 661.
Role Overview
As a Substance Misuse Clinical Lead, you will play a key role in providing high-quality clinical care and supporting the delivery of substance misuse services within the prison setting. You will need to be a qualified non-medical prescriber, with RCGP Part 1 being desirable. Working as part of a dedicated team of four.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide substance misuse clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.
- Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
- Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high-quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
- Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication, and competence.
- Clinical Lead will coach, line manage, and develop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non-clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.
- Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry out investigations locally and for the wider region.

Salary
- Annual salary is between £10,328 - £11,602 per annum depending on experience.

Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse – Adult or Mental Health
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Professional registration as an Independent Non-Medical prescriber
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
Ideal Experience:
- Experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment (although not essential)
