Equity Research Associate Internship - Summer 2027
The Role
Looking for a best-in-class opportunity to obtain hands-on experience with fundamental analysis and the investment research process? The Equity Research Associate internship program gives interns the chance to obtain and develop the core research skills needed to jumpstart a successful and lucrative career in investment management. The program is led by our director of research, and each intern will be paired with a peer in the research department who will mentor them throughout the summer.
Throughout the 10-week program, interns will support real investment decisions by:
- Conducting autonomous research on three stocks across different sub-sectors.
- Building financial models, completing financial analysis, and conducting proprietary research.
- Communicating with corporate management teams, industry experts, and Wall Street analysts, to develop investment recommendations for our funds.
- Collaborating with fellow interns and utilizing the vast network of Fidelity managing directors of research, analysts and portfolio managers.
- Pitching stock recommendations to internal portfolio managers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
