JOB DETAILS:
Location: Cambridge, UK
Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time in a hybrid work structure throughout the duration of the intern term.
Duration: July 1 to September 24
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
We are seeking highly motivated Software Engineering intern/co-op to join our team at AMD. In this role:

- Assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build and maintain our software applications
- Provide training on the full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment
- Encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process
- Help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues
- Involve you in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Currently enrolled in a UK based University into a Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Preferred Skills:
- Programming Languages: Familiarity with C and C++
- Software Engineering Foundations: Exposure to object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, operating systems concepts, and multithreaded programming
- Development Skills: Experience with design and code development, Linux environments, and modern software tools and techniques
- Machine Learning & Data Science:
- Exposure to machine learning algorithms, data analysis, and computer vision through coursework or projects
- Familiarity with ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, JAX, and/or Caffe
- System-Level Programming: Exposure to kernel development (e.g., Linux kernel modules, device drivers, low-level system programming)
- GPU Programming: Exposure to frameworks like CUDA or HIP for accelerating ML workloads
- Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure for hosting and deploying applications
