We are looking for local students interested in working for us over the summer!
The summer is a very busy period for UPP and we look for extra support in ensuring a smooth process for students leaving their accommodation in June and then preparing for the ones moving in during September.
The roles requirements are varied and will change from day to day to ensure we meet all our deadlines. You will need to work a mix of weekdays and weekends.
You will report to one of our on-site managers who will provide training, supervision, and guidance.
Please note that you will be on your feet a lot and some activities will include heavy lifting and manual handling through the day.
Some of the responsibilities include but not limited to are:
- Support the Housekeeping teams with basic cleaning of accommodation and removal of rubbish where needed including recycling
- Help with mattress and linen deliveries plus making up the beds
- Support with room checks on departure of residents as delegated, using the system in place.
- Distribute literature, posters, equipment around the sites
- Assist in the preparation for arrivals during the vacation periods. Greeting and issuing keys and dealing with queries as they arise in a polite and friendly manner
- Record the issue and return of keys using the appropriate documentation, operating the conference database and check visitors in and out of their accommodation
- Help out in the Post Room to sort resident’s mail, record parcel deliveries on parcel tracker and to check ID when issuing parcels to addressees
- Ensure your working area is kept tidy at all times and safe for others working with you
- Communicate well with colleagues, both written and verbal, relaying messages clearly and promptly using the correct protocol for radio and telephone communication plus reporting any issues identified

Any previous work experience would be useful but not essential for these roles, we mainly need you to be committed and willing to get stuck in and support where needed on the days you are working.
In return, we are offering a busy and interesting environment to work and an hourly rate of £10.85. You will be paid weekly through our recruitment agency partner, GI Solutions.
