IoT Edge Architect
Location: London
Salary: £700 - £750pd

We are seeking an experienced IoT Edge Architect to support the Chief Controls function, working within the R&C Value Stream.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and shape IoT and Edge architecture, including target-state architecture, technology patterns and strategic direction.
- Design architectures spanning IoT devices, edge platforms, networks, data platforms and cloud environments.
- Determine where data and processing should take place at the edge versus centrally or in the cloud.
- Develop architecture principles, standards and patterns for IoT and Edge environments.
- Ensure solutions align with wider technology strategy, Enterprise Architecture standards and the Group Data Platform direction where relevant.
- Identify and manage architectural, technology and control risks, including resilience, availability, data security and device management.
- Assess technology options and support build vs buy decisions where appropriate.
- Define integration patterns between edge environments, enterprise platforms, APIs and cloud services.
- Provide architectural guidance to engineering and delivery teams throughout implementation.
- Resolve architectural conflicts and competing technology requirements across different teams and platforms.

Key Requirements
- Strong experience as an IoT, Edge, Solution or Technology Architect within a large, complex organisation.
- Proven experience designing IoT and/or Edge computing architectures.
- Strong understanding of cloud, distributed computing, networks, APIs and data architectures.
- Experience working across the technology stack from devices and edge platforms through to cloud and enterprise platforms.
- Strong understanding of technology security, controls, governance and risk management.
- Experience working within a regulated environment, ideally banking or financial services.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture principles, standards and governance.
- Ability to balance strategic architecture with practical delivery requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
