Oceonix employs a culturally diverse group of highly skilled professionals from across all aspects of Shipping and broader disciplines. We currently have offices in London, Cyprus, and Malta.

Role Purpose

As a Technical Superintendent, you will support Fleet Management in monitoring and coordinating the technical operations of assigned vessels. • Maintain effective day-to-day communication with assigned vessels, technical managers, manufacturers, and service providers, escalating significant operational matters where appropriate.
  • Provide technical support for vessel machinery and equipment, remotely and onboard as required, and escalate complex faults or urgent incidents to the appropriate senior team member.
  • Carry out vessel inspections and prepare supporting reports, including for vetting procedures, identifying compliance issues, and referring significant findings for senior review.
  • Obtain and evaluate repair quotations, support discussions with suppliers, and make recommendations on cost-effective solutions that meet safety and quality standards, in accordance with delegated authority.
  • Participate actively in the Emergency Response Team, contributing to crisis management and resolution.
  • Assess the performance of Senior Engine and Deck Officers to ensure operational standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the fleet.
  • Prepare regular reports on assigned vessels, tailored to reflect each vessel’s operational and technical condition.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vessel equipment and specifications and recommend process improvements.
  • Support Fleet Manager Engineers with troubleshooting and innovation by providing updates and insights into specialised technical areas through continuous training and study.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
