Job Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive, child-focused team covering South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire, providing high-quality support to foster carers and helping achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

The role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, combining home-based working, visits to foster carers across the region, and attendance at team meetings and service activities from our Chesterfield office.

The Role

As a Supervising Social Worker, You Will

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to foster carers.
  • Develop positive relationships that empower foster families to meet the needs of children and young people.
  • Undertake foster carer assessments, reviews, and monitoring visits.
  • Contribute to foster carer recruitment and assessment activity, including Form F Assessments.
  • Participate in foster carer training and support groups.
  • Ensure safeguarding standards and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children.

Essential Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working within fostering, children's services, or a related field.
  • Experience of undertaking assessments and supporting families.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Access to a vehicle for business use.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Hours

37 hours per week

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
  • Friday: 9:00am - 4:30pm

Additional Information

The successful candidate will be based within our Midlands Region service, covering South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire.
