Job Role
Ringway is seeking an experienced and motivated Schemes Supervisor to join our Gloucestershire Highways team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highways professional with strong operational and supervisory experience to play a key role in delivering planned maintenance, improvement and infrastructure schemes across the county.
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and successful delivery of highways projects, ensuring works are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Duties
- Supervise the delivery of highways maintenance and improvement schemes across the Gloucestershire network.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Manage daily site operations, labour, plant and materials.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme, specification and budget requirements.
- Carry out site inspections, audits and quality checks.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
- Complete and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements and permits.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, residents and stakeholders throughout scheme delivery.
- Monitor progress against programme and identify solutions to mitigate delays.
- Ensure all temporary traffic management arrangements are correctly implemented.
- Maintain accurate site records, reports and as-built information.
- Support operational performance targets and continuous improvement initiatives.

Person Specification
- Previous experience in a Schemes Supervisor, Site Supervisor or Foreman role within highways maintenance or civil engineering.
- Strong knowledge of highway construction and maintenance activities including surfacing, drainage, road markings, signs and structures.
- Experience managing subcontractors and operational workforces.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and CDM requirements.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Excellent stakeholder and customer management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full Time - 40 - Monday to Friday
