About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced supervisor for an exciting new opportunity in the Midlands, where you will be field-based, supporting operations across multiple sites as required.
The supervisor will:
- Ensure business operations are running effectively and aligned with customer expectations while supporting company objectives.
- Act as the first point of contact for customer requests.
- Oversee the performance of direct reporting team members to deliver industry-leading service delivery and maintain excellent customer relations/communication.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following SQDCM measures:
Safety
- Perform risk assessments and escalate concerns.
- Monitor manual handling practices.
- Ensure COSHH awareness and enforce control measures.
- Conduct workplace health and safety inspection checks.

Quality
- Create and maintain well-defined work element sheets (work instructions).
- Train/deputy supervisors & inspectors against work instructions, using boundary samples and standardised processes.
- Conduct standardised work confirmations.
- Apply the Autoscan Practical Problem-Solving (8D) process where needed.
Deliver
- Initiate new jobs (containment & engineering) via the internal work instruction authoring & data reporting system (EOS).
- Be the single point of contact for quality technicians and engineers, agreeing clear reporting methods and frequencies.
- Ensure all contaminant activity/jobs meet volume targets and customer objectives.
Cost
- Manage direct hour distribution confirmation via internal reporting.
- Monitor and adjust containment activities for efficiency.
- Track and manage non-chargeable hours on-site.
Morale
- Coach and mentor the direct reporting team, leading by example.
- Oversee attendance and timekeeping via internal systems.
- ‘Go look, see’: Walk your area every shift for proactive oversight.

Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience within an automotive manufacturing environment or similar.
- Full UK driving licence (travel to multiple customer sites required).
- Proven supervisory experience.
- Computer-proficient with strong Excel knowledge and experience.
- Ability to work under strict confidentiality guidelines.
Additional
- Valid right to work in the UK (unrestricted).
- Pass a standard criminal record check (DBS).
